Odesssa Davis Yeager, adoring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, quietly passed away March 6, 2015 with her family beside her. She was born in Hunt County near commerce, TX on June 4, 1923. Odessa was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. J.C. Davis, six brothers and two sisters, as well as the love of her life, John Yeager. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Toinette and Ed Collier; grandsons, Davin Smith, David Collier and Chris Collier; granddaughter, Dara Culver; great-grandsons, Blayne Smith, Tristan Randolph, Aiden Smith; and great-granddaughters, Holly Culver and Cheyenna Smith. Odessa lived in Mineola for fifty-seven years before moving to Dallas where she finished living the rest of her life. During her years in Mineola she served as secretary at the First United Methodist Church for six years, Registrar of Mineola High School for twenty years, and had her own dress shop for fourteen.
She has been a member of the First United Methodist Church for sixty five years where she served as chair person of every one of the church committees. She was a member of the Pilot Club for thirty-three years, served on the Chamber of Commerce for three years and as an advisor for three years. Wherever there was a need she tried to be there.
There were two organizations that she helped found; Caring and Sharing, serving on the board for twenty-seven years; and Kindness Kottage where she served on the board for eighteen years. They remained in her heart and mind until her death.
As important as her life in Mineola was to her and her husband, their family never left their hearts and minds for even a minute.
