The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Daphne Smith can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Miss Smith was one of the original faculty members at Harmony School when it first opened in 1939. She lived in the Rosewood community next door to my grandparents the late Rainey and Myrtie Johnson. She later went to work at Winnsboro Schools, and my wife Charlotte Harrell Johnson had her as a home ec teacher at WHS.

Condolence From: Sharon Smith Thompson
Condolence: Miss Smith was an outstanding teacher and mentor to high school girls with a desire to hold leadership roles in what was then called Future Homemakers of America. When I decided this was something I wanted to pursue, she led the way giving generously of her time and experience. Thanks to her guidance, I was honored to serve as both Area VI and State President of Texas Future Homemakers of America.
