It is indeed a pleasure to welcome you to the Beaty Funeral Home web site. Your visit here is appreciated. Formerly known as McCary-Edwards-Cain Funeral Home, Roger and Don Beaty purchased the business in 1989. Under that and previous names the funeral home had its beginning in the early 1900's. The Beaty brother's life long dream was "...to go into business together in their home town." Because of community support, that dream, and more, was realized in 1995 when their new building at 816 West Broadway was dedicated.
Actually, the Beaty family roots date back almost to Winnsboro's founding. After the Civil war and until his death, their great grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Gibson, was a noted local merchant and civic leader (for an interesting historical footnote, click The Gibson Cannon). Their Grandfather, Roger Carlock, was a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Tyler and Greenville. He later owned a funeral home in Como, Texas.
Current CEO, Don Beaty, is a 1970 graduate of Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and was licensed in 1971. Roger Beaty, who was also a licensed funeral director, died in 2001. Don and Roger's children are now partners in the business.
The Mineola location (Formerly English Funeral Home) was purchased in 1991. The location in Hawkins was dedicated in 1995. (Click on the respective icons to view these facilities.)
Besides three funeral homes, the Beaty family also owns and operates Roselawn Memorial Gardens, a perpetual care cemetery in Mineola.
