Carolyn Kennemer Tapley was born in Winnsboro on August 28,1948 to Aubrey Kennemer and Orea Eula Robinson. She was 70 years old. She went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Hospice of East Texas after a 12 year battle with colon cancer. She was always comforted knowing there would not be one cancer cell in heaven. She was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church and was a Christian. Carolyn married the love of her life, Charles David Tapley, on December 31, 1966. She worked at Austin Elementary in Sulphur Springs Independent School District for 20 years in the cafeteria. For 19 of those years, she was the cafeteria manager. She didn’t just feed the children, she loved and cared about them as well. Carolyn was always very active in each church she was a member of. She served as WMA president, Sunday School teacher, AWANA Truth and Training leader, Keenagers director, and helped organize many conferences and trips. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles David Tapley; two daughters, Sonya Kay Tapley of Sulphur Springs, and Leigh Anne Goldsmith and husband Jeff of Palmer; son, Tim Tapley and wife Monica of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Keithan Tapley of Longview, Allissa and Alex Figueroa of Sulphur Springs, Quenton, Dalton and Tony Goldsmith of Palmer, and Jazmine and Sam Tapley of Sulphur Springs; and one sister, Sandra Tyler and husband C.D. of Mesquite. She is also survived by two precious friends, Gloria Clayton and Joy Montooth. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. Visitation was held at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro on March 15 from 5-8pm. Funeral services were held at Pine Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro on March 16 at 2pm followed by graveside at Hopewell Cemetery.
