Addie Jeanette
Sexton
March 6, 1931 – May 23, 2026
Beaty Funeral Home Chapel - Mineola
1:00 - 2:00 pm (Central time)
Addie Jeanette Sexton passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026 at the age of 95. Addie was born March 6, 1931 to Amos and Maureen Cross.
Jeanette was a woman of remarkable strength, resilience, and devotion to her family. At the age of 20, she married Thomas Forsythe, a widower eleven years her senior who was raising three young children, ages nine, four, and two. Together they built a loving home and shared 22 happy years of marriage until Thomas's sudden passing.
Several years later, Jeanette reunited with a high school classmate, Toy Sexton, at a class reunion. Their renewed friendship blossomed into love, and they married, enjoying nearly 30 years of an active and fulfilling life together before Toy's health declined and he passed away in June 2015.
Following Toy's death, Jeanette remained independent for eight years before moving to an assisted living community in Mineola. Throughout her life, she was known for her quiet strength, caring nature, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always looked forward to their visits, and nothing brought a bigger smile to her face than having them gathered around her, sharing stories, laughter, and precious family moments.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Maureen Cross; her brother, Gene Cross; her grandson, Josh Miller; and her two husbands, Thomas Forsythe and Toy Sexton.
Jeanette is survived by her sister, Delores Waggoneer; her children, Tom Forsythe Jr. and wife Cherie, Linda Miller and husband Roger, and Sandra Clemmons and husband Tom Cruse; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She also shared a special bond with her sister Delores's children, her niece Carolyn Phillips, and nephews Kyle Waggoneer and Guy Waggoneer, all of Mineola.
Jeanette's life was a testament to love, perseverance, and family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held at Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Mineola, Texas, on June 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
