Albert James Long

Albert James Long died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at his residence in Mineola, Texas. He was born Thursday, August 11, 1921 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He served in the United Stated Navy during WWII as a Torpedo Bomber pilot aboard the USS Intrepid. During his service he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a graduate of LSU and an accomplished author with four novels to his credit.

He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia D. Long whom he married on Friday, April 9, 1943.

He is survived by a son; Ricky Long, a daughter; Melissa Ann Long, a grandson; Trevor Long and a granddaughter; Sommer Rene Long.
