Allan LaVern Thorson, aged 83, of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024. Born on January 29, 1941, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Anton and Alice Thorson, Allan grew up in a loving home filled with the values of hard work and dedication.
Allan was a proud graduate of Madison High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. His commitment to his country was evident through his service in the United States Airforce, a period of his life he always held in high regard.
Following his military service, Allan embarked on a successful career as an engineer and manager. He was instrumental in the completion of the Oscar Meyer plant in Sherman, Texas, a testament to his dedication and expertise in his field. Allan's career later took him to Mentor Incorporated in Dallas, Texas, where he continued to impact the industry positively.
On January 21, 1990, Allan married his beloved wife, Sharon, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Allan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took great joy in spending time with his family. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, often found on the course or by the water with friends and family, sharing stories and creating lasting memories.
Allan is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Thorson; his children, Scott Thorson, Scott Gailey, Kristen Lahey, and Michelle Gailey; his son-in-law, Matthew Lahey; his daughter-in-law, Lois August; his grandchildren, Owen Lahey, Dylan Gailey, and Oona Lahey; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Alice Thorson, and his sisters, Alice Wakefield and Jean McTier.
Allan's legacy is one of integrity, dedication, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. His family takes comfort in the knowledge that he is now reunited with his parents and sisters.
