Alma Lou Brunson

Alma Lou Brunson, age 96 of Winnsboro, passed away, Thursday, August 7, 2008 at her home. She was born in the Pine Mills Community on January, 23, 1912 to the late Jasper and Wanda Welborn Garrison. She married Glenn F. Brunson on July 30, 1928. They lived in the Dallas area until retiring to Winnsboro in 1971; here they joined the Pine Street Baptist Church, were she taught sunday school for many years. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Eastern Stars. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 75 years, Glenn Brunson, a son, Raymond G. Brunson, a brother, Buddy Garrison. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Joyce Brunson of Winnsboro, Robert Wayne and Marsha Brunson of Winnsboro, Jerry Dean and Shirley Brunson of Galveston; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jean and Drennon Allen of Winnsboro; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, and nineteen great-great-grandchildren; and her good friend and caregiver, Lisa McFarland. Arrangements are being handled by BEATY FUNERAL HOME, 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, TX, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, August 10, 2008. Funeral service will be at Pine Street Baptist Church at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 11, 2008. Rev. Charles Ethridge and Rev. L.J. Yeager officiating. Interment will be at Lee Cemetery, Winnsboro, TX. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
