Alvertia May Barrett, age 88, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at her home in Hawkins, Texas. She was born on Tuesday, May 16, 1922 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania to the late Samuel and Luella Burns. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Hawkins and was the Director of Hawkins Helping Hands from 2002 - 2008.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George J. Barrett; and her daughter, Shirley Anne Barrett Karlson.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Jeff Karlson; two grandchildren, John Karlson and Kristopher Karlson, five great-grandchildren, Emily Karlson, Drake Karlson, Kamryn Karlson, Tyson Karlson and Rush Karlson.
