Arlis J
Sneed
Apr 3, 1945 — Jun 18, 2026
Beaty Funeral Home Chapel - Mineola
12:00 - 1:00 pm (Central time)
Arlis "Jim" Sneed was born on April 3, 1945, in Poteet, Texas, to the late Sidney Stanford and Blanche Ann Sneed. He passed from this life leaving behind a legacy of hard work, humility, faith, and love for his family.
Jim grew up in Oakwood and spent his life as a hardworking man who took great pride in providing and serving others. Throughout his career, he worked in furniture making, operated heavy equipment, and eventually retired at the age of 71 from Mineola Independent School District.
A true jack of all trades and master of many, Jim had a gift for fixing, building, and figuring things out. He was humble, dependable, and took great pride in everything he put his hands on. He was a man who quietly showed his love through his actions and the care he gave to those around him.
Jim loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was a long-faithful member of Trinity Fellowship in Lindale, where he worshiped and grew in his faith. He left this earth praising Jesus, a testament to the deep faith he carried with him throughout his life.
Outside of work, Jim enjoyed playing dominoes, spending time with his family, and especially caring for his yard. He took great pride in keeping it beautiful and perfect, reflecting the same care and dedication he showed in all areas of his life.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Kay, with whom he shared 42 wonderful years of marriage, as well as seven brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his companion of 12 years, Linda; his daughter, Donna; his two sons, Curtis and wife Reana, and Ronny and wife Jill; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Jim will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, companion, and friend. His kindness, hard work, faith, and love for his family will continue to live on through all those blessed to know him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to Hospice of East Texas in appreciation for the compassionate care and support they provided.
