La Sra. Ortega fue una esposa y madre amorosa. Le encantaba cocinar para su familia. En ocasiones, exigía de una salsa picosa para su comida, “decía que, si la comida no picaba, no estaba buena.” Aurea una mujer muy activa con una sonrisa bonita y unos ojos brillantes.” Disfrutaba pasar tiempo al aire libre y cuidar las hermosas flores de su jardín.
Le precedieron en muerte sus padres, su hermano Ricardo Pineda y su hermana María Pineda.
Le sobreviven su esposo, Taurino Ortega; sus hijos Javier Ortega y su esposa Roma, Rolando Ortega y su esposa Celia; sus hijas Marisol Ortega, Erica Quiñones y su esposo Mario, y Dora Vigueras y su esposo Sergio; 13 nietos: Gabriel Paredes, Lina Ortega, Alicia Paredes, Araceli Ortega, Rogelio O. Delapaz, Felipe Reyes, Rolando Ortega, José Reyes, David Reyes, Steven Reyes, Daniel Delapaz, Mia Delapaz y Jonathan Quinones; así como sus hermanas Epifania Pineda y Marcelinas Pineda.
Aurea Ortega, 75, of Mineola, Texas, passed away after a brief illness on April 26, 2025, in a Tyler hospital. Mrs. Ortega was born on September 6, 1949, in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico, to the late Luis Pineda and Cointa Hernandez.
She met and married Taurino Ortega in Mexico, and the two of them shared a nearly 60-year love story as husband and wife. They came to Mineola from Mexico in 1982 and made Wood County their home. She lived in her Catholic faith.
Mrs. Ortega was a devoted wife to her husband and a loving mother to her children. She loved to cook for family. On occasion, Aurea was known to request a “spicy salsa” with her meals. Her quote would be “if the food is not spicy, it wasn’t delicious.” She was full of energy and always on the go. Aurea had a smile that everyone described as "Gold". She had eyes that were vibrant and full of life. Aurea loved spending time outdoors and tending to the beautiful flowers in her yard.
Mrs. Ortega was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Ricardo Pineda; and sister Maria Pineda.
Aurea is survived by her husband Taurino Ortega; son Javier Ortega and wife Roma; son Rolando Ortega and wife Celia; daughter Marisol Ortega; daughter Erica Quinones and husband Mario; daughter Dora Vigueras and husband Sergio; 13 grandchildren Gabriel Paredes, Lina Ortega, Alicia Paredes, Araceli Ortega, Rogelio O. Delapaz, Felipe Reyes, Rolando Ortega, Jose Reyes, David Reyes, Steven Reyes, Daniel Delapaz, Mia Delapaz, and Jonathan Quinones; sisters Epifania Pineda and Marcelinas Pineda.
