Avril Aline Scott

Avril Aline Scott, 93, of Van, TX died on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in Van, TX. She was born on Saturday, August 6, 1921 in Stigler, OK to the late Ed and Eunice Few.

She was a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church. She was a amazing mother, grandmother and held no favorites amongst them all.

She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas C. Scott; four brothers, Wilburn Few, Ernest Few, Gilbert Few, Loy Few; three sisters, Ova Noles, Reba Bunch, Ozele Leslie; one grandchild, Shanda Calhoun.

She is survived by her son; Tommy Scott and wife Vicki of Mineola, TX; daughters, Betty Cluck of Van, TX, Peggy Lea and husband Joe of Lake Fork, TX, Sharon Melvin and husband Dick of Mineola, TX; sisters, Melba Calvary of Alto, TX, Laverne Roberts and husband Merill of Longview, TX; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great - great grandchild.

Visitation will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Service will follow visitation at 2:00 PM, officiated by Bro. Jim Parker. Interment will be at Sand Spring Cemetery in Mineola, TX.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association or charity of choice.
