Mrs. Barbara Louise Moore Davenport passed away on September 18, 2019 in Dallas, TX. She was born on August 12, 1931 in Mineola, Tx to Melvin “Denny” Moore and Margaret Estelle Moore. Mrs. Davenport graduated from Mineola High School and attended the Federal Business Institute in Tyler, TX. She married her husband of 67 years Ivan Shelby Davenport, Jr. on January 21, 1950. Mrs. Davenport worked as an administrative assistant for the Richardson, TX and Tyler, TX independent School Districts. She was a fashion model working with Herman Marcus of Nieman Marcus in Dallas and she volunteered as a candy striper at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital. She loved to travel the world, fishing, camping and loved her family gatherings at the lake house in Palestine and the big red barn in Quitman. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by their three children, Sue Storace and her husband John of Plano, TX, Paul Davenport of Richardson, TX and Jill Stewart and her husband Mark of Krugerville, TX, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Honorary pall bearers are: Robert Paul Davenport, John Storace, Mark Stewart, Chase Stewart, Cody Davenport, Cade Watson. In lieu of flowers you can make donations to the “T Boone Pickens” Faith Presbyterian Hospice, 12477 Merit Dr., Dallas TX, 75251 Services will be 2:oo pm, Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 Saturday.
