Mrs. Barbara Sosbee Flowers died on Friday, September 17, 2021 in Tyler, Texas at the age of 71. She was born on August 27, 1950 to the late Donna Corbitt Sosbee and Earl Brannon Sosbee. Mrs. Flowers married Larry David Flowers on April 28, 1968 in Argyle, Texas. Shortly after marriage she had her only child Tammy Gay Flowers. She then spent the next years working and caring for her family until she was able to fulfill her dream of continuing her education and becoming a registered nurse. She graduated from Texas Womens University in 1986 with top honors of her class. After working several years in the Emergency room and in the ICU/Trauma unit at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, she acquired her EMT/Paramedic teaching certificate from Southwestern Medical Center where she taught the Dallas county fire department paramedics. She retired in 1999 and moved with her husband to Winnsboro in 2000. Her favorite things to do were working in her garden and with her flowers, fishing with her husband, loving her dogs, visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed her life and will be missed dearly by her family. She is preceded in death by her mother, father and sister Debra Karen Sosbee. Mrs. Flowers is survived by her husband, daughter, two nephews Brannon and Mason Hayes, and niece Jacquelyn Hayes Haley of North Carolina. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Perryville United Methodist Church.
