Benjamin Elizondo Barrera, age 55, died Monday, January 09, 2012 in Quitman, Texas. He was born on Saturday, July 21, 1956 in Camargo, Mexico to Jose and Herminia Barrera. He was a butcher at Mineola Packing and attended St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mineola.

He is survived by his parents, Jose and Herminia Barrers of Tyler, Texas; his wife, Minerva Rios Barrera of Golden, Texas; three sons, Benjamin Elizondo Barrera Jr. of Golden, Rickey Rios Barrera of Golden and Danny Rios Barrera of Alba, Texas; a daughter, Angela Barrera of Shreveport, Louisiana; two brothers, Zenon Barrera Jr. of Bullard, Texas and Jose Barrera of Winona, Texas; 5 sisters, Leticia Cheatham of Troup, Texas, Maria Rojas of Tyler, Candelaria Smith of San Antonio, Texas, Herminia Nanez of Austin, Texas and Lazara Segura of Tyler; and seven grandchildren, Mason, Chad Jr., Jaiden, Brielle, Cadie, Kyler and Kierstin.

Visitation will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 6 - 7 PM followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mineola on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Father Effron Nano officiating.
