Bessie Nadine Short

Services for Bessie Nadine Short, 92 of Mineola, TX are scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2015 at 10:00AM at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola, TX with Rev. Rick Son and Rev. Bobbie Maltas officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to services. Interment will follow at Mineola City Cemetery.

Mrs. Short died on Thursday, June 4, 2015 in Mineola, TX. She was born December 22, 1922 in Holiday, TX to the late Thomas Carl and Mable Smith.

Mrs. Short built bombs for the U.S during World War II. She was a secretary and office manager for Dr. RO Moore for thirty years. She was a volunteer for The Chamber of Commerce and Meals On Wheels and taught Sunday School at The First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Short is preceded in death by her husband Ray Short of sixty years.

She is survived by her two daughters; Vicki Donohoe and husband Pete of Mineola, TX, Cathy Roberts and husband Dick of Quitman, TX; brothers, Thomas Carl Smith of Athens, TX; two sisters, Juanita Andrews of Conroe, TX and Merle Tyler and husband Tommy of Conroe, TX; five grandchildren, Bronwyn Sullenberger and husband Barry of Saginaw, TX, PJ Donohoe of Monroe, MI, Aaron Donohoe and wife Dana of Mineola, TX, Sarah Jahanbin and husband Arastu of Dallas, TX, Kelly Roberts and Tony Moreno of Denton, TX; five great grandchildren, Jeff Roberts, Kros Donohoe, Riley Donohoe, Kaleb Brown, Brendan Sullenberger, and Kailie Brown.
