Betty Martin, born on December 15, 1944, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to James and Bertha Butler, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. A devoted Christian and a dedicated worker, Betty embodied the values of faith, love, and perseverance throughout her life.
Betty married the love of her life, David Martin, on December 31, 1989. Together, they spent the next few decades building a legacy of faith and family, always prioritizing their bond and their shared values.
Betty is a Pentecostal woman whose spiritual walk with the Lord has influenced her family to know her as a prayer warrior. Betty believed in the power or prayer, and her belief led to many answered prayers. Betty loved to play her accordion and sing for the Lord. She was a blessing to all that knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David Martin; her sons, Philip Horton, Kevin Horton and his wife Janey Horton, Greg Horton, Bradley Horton and his wife Debra Horton; her daughter, Kimberly Jenson and her husband Nathan Jenson; her brother, Michael Butler; and her sister, Carolyn Holland. She also leaves behind a large and loving family of grandchildren: Chris, Melissa, Daniel, Jacob, Ashley, Sunny, Chase, Weylin, Kassidy, Peyton, and Bella; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bertha Butler; her brother, Sonny Butler; and her sister, Shirley Thorpe. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy of faith and love will continue to inspire future generations.
The pallbearers for Betty's service will be Nathan Jenson, Chris Horton, Weylin Watson, Peyton Watson, Andrew Horton, and Briley Horton. The family invites all who knew and loved Betty to join in celebrating her life and legacy.
