Bettye Landrum, a cherished individual known for her kind, loving, caring, and generous spirit, left us on September 9, 2024. She was born in Bennington, Oklahoma, on May 29, 1943, to James Garfield Bell and Alice Louise Bell. She grew up in Cooper, Texas, where she attended Cooper High School. She moved to Mineola, Texas, in 1986.
She married her late husband Clifford on October 13, 1995. They had many happy years together. Bettye lived a life filled with tremendous love for our lord and savior Jesus Christ and her family. She devoted most of her time to caring for her son Gary after he was disabled in the military.
Bettye was proceeded in death by her husband Clifford Landrum, parents, siblings, and son Gary Boles.
She is survived by her twin brother Billy Bell, sons Terry Boles and Jerry Boles, daughter in law Clara Ketner, granddaughters Debra Taylor, Clarissa Hartman, and Jessica Turner, grandsons Jonathan Boles, Lawrence Boles, and Christopher Boles, and many cherished great grandchildren.
Her departure leaves an unfillable void in their lives, yet they find comfort in the memories and everlasting love they shared. Bettye had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She was fearless and independent, yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate. She loved living on Lake Holbrook and eating at the Mineola Dairy Queen almost daily. Bettye and son Gary were active members of Sand Springs Baptist Church of Mineola for many years. Bettye was a member of the American Legion where she would participate in supporting the veteran community.
Bettye’s celebration of life will be held at Sand Springs Baptist Church on October 12. Visitation will be at 1:00pm and service will follow at 2:00pm.
