Beverly Joyce Hewitt (Whitehurst)

Beverly Joyce Hewitt, born on September 17, 1946, in Safford, Arizona, to George and Joyce Whitehurst, passed away peacefully at her home on May 22, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

A woman of creativity, kindness, and unwavering love, Beverly will be remembered most for her bright smile and her warm, generous heart. She found great joy in crafting and used her artistic talents to bring beauty and joy to those around her. Her love extended deeply to her family and her church, but it was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who held a truly special place in her heart.

Beverly spent many dedicated years working as an Optical Manager for Costco before retiring, where she was known for her strong work ethic and compassionate service. In her later years, she found companionship and love in her marriage to Gary Lee Waybright, whom she married on March 26, 2016.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lee Waybright; her sons Len Sparks and his wife Margaret, and Chuck Amerson and his wife Cassey; her cherished grandchildren Heather Garvin, Taylor Johnson, McKenzie Moody, Joey May, Brian Johnson, Danny Johnson, Greyson Amerson, Gunner Amerson, Gavin Amerson, Laramie Amerson, and Chaz Amerson; as well as 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought endless pride and joy to her life.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, George and Joyce Whitehurst; her brothers Sonny, Charles, Billy, Doug, George, and Butch; her beloved sisters Dorothy and Frankie; and great-granddaughters Jillian Peoples and Penelope Amerson.

Beverly’s legacy is one of love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
