Bill Erskin Melton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill Erskin Melton, who left us peacefully on July 9, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on June 2, 1949, in Little Elm, Texas, Bill lived a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness that touched everyone who knew him.

For many years, Erskin proudly served as a bus driver for Pittsburg Independent School District, where he became a familiar and beloved figure to countless students and parents. He had a special way of brightening each day with his warm smile, and his genuine care for others shone through in all aspects of his life.

Erskin is survived by his loving sisters, Betty Stephens and Patricia Steptoe, and his partner, Kenneth Ossman, who will forever cherish the memories they shared together. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and camaraderie that will be remembered fondly by friends and family alike.

Erskin was preceded in death by his brother,Ridky Melton, sister, Cathy Thomas and his parents, Bill Melton and Florence Melton.

In honoring Erskin's life, visitation will take place at Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro on July 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join us as we celebrate the remarkable life of a truly wonderful man.

As we gather to say our goodbyes, let us remember Erskin for his love, kindness, and the joy he brought into our lives. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in our hearts.
