Billie Wooten Rhodes passed away on January 5, 2022. She was born in Lamar County, Paris, Texas on September 7, 1928. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse G and Nettie Holcomb Wooten, sister, Mrs. Byron B (Jessie) Campbell, and brother Lloyd C. Wooten as well as her husband Charles R. Rhodes.
Billie is survived by her devoted son, David R. Rhodes, grandsons, Cameron R. Rhodes and Spencer P. Rhodes of Mineola, Texas and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, each one having a special space in her heart.
The Rhodes lived in Paris, Texas after their marriage on April 4, 1952. They moved to the Dallas area in 1957 living in Irving and Lewisville and owned and operated auto parts store there.
Son, David R. Rhodes was born in January 1969. The family moved to Mineola, Texas in 1972. Mineola was so perfect for them they decided it seemed like home. Charles operated Rhodes Auto Parts until prior to his death in 1993. The Rhodes family joined the First Baptist Church of Mineola upon their arrival in 1972 and have loved and appreciated the Christian fellowship throughout the years.
Billie enjoyed participating in local civic events and considered fellow members of Mineola Study Club. Nu Kappa Beta Sigma Phi, Delphions were numerous bridge clubs as family. She was a past member of the Pilot Club, the Garden Club and friends of the library.
