Billy Don Dobbs, 92, of Winnsboro, Texas passed away on December 21, 2019. Mr. Dobbs was born on July 14, 1927 in Megarel,Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Dobbs, parents William Davis Dobbs and Bessie Dobbs, brother Richard Dobbs and nephews David and Tom Dobbs. Mr. Dobbs is survived by his daughter Paula Watson, daughter Carolyn Nobata and husband Miki and daughter Patty Miller; brother Floyd Dobbs; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Mr. Dobbs lived in Winnsboro from 1958 to 1981 and again from 2014 til his death. He was a past member of the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro and also a member of Ripley Memorial Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. Billy served near the end of World War II in the U.S. Navy first on the battleship Texas and lastly on the U.S.S. Rushmore. He was a 32nd degree Mason having served as Worshipful Master at the Gus Garrison Lodge in Winnsboro. Billy was a longtime worker in the oilfield industry and retired from Chevron. A visitation will be held at Beaty Funeral Home on Sunday, December 29th at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Lee Cemetery.
