Billy Rex Shirley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Billy "Bull" Rex Shirley, who peacefully joined the angel band on January 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on February 1, 1957, in Winnsboro, Texas, Bull was a beloved member of the community, known for his warm heart and gentle spirit.

Bull, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, spent the majority of his life in the town he loved. A proud graduate of Winnsboro High School in 1976, he dedicated his professional life to the concrete construction business. His hard work and dedication were evident in every project he undertook, leaving a lasting impact on the community he served.

Beyond his work, Bull found solace in the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, skilled hunter, and a lover of camping, embracing the beauty of nature with every opportunity. Despite his tough exterior and the nickname "Bull," those close to him knew that beneath it all, he was a gentle and caring soul—a true Teddy Bear at heart.

Bull was preceded in death by his father, Nadios Shirley, and his brother, Nadios Shirley, Jr. He is survived by his loving mother, Dot Shirley, his sister Debby Spence and her husband Danny, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

As we mourn the loss of Bull, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the laughter that echoed wherever he went. May his memory be a source of comfort and may he rest in eternal peace.
