Billy Joe Starnes

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Billy Joe Starnes, age 59, of Tyler, Texas, on February 26, 2026.

Billy Joe was a child in spirit with a heart of gold. His gentle nature, sweet presence, and innocent joy touched the lives of all who truly knew him. Billy Joe found comfort in the simple things, and his smile and tender heart brought light into every room he entered.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Dorothy Starnes; father, Melvin Starnes; sisters, Doretha Pool, Loretta Allen, and Bobbie Anderson; and brothers, Dale Starnes, Jeffery Starnes, Keith Starnes, and Brad Starnes. Billy Joe is survived by his loving sisters, Glenda Porter, Patricia Beaver, Fredia Starnes, Christi Mitchell (Mark), Joy Fenner (Bill), Tammie Gilstrap (Bubba), Kim Keller (David), and brother, Robin Starnes, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.

Graveside burial will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Roselawn Cemetery in Mineola, Texas.

Billy Joe's life reminds us that the purest hearts often leave the deepest impressions. He will be missed dearly and remembered always.
