Bob Brock Friday

Mr. Bob Brock Friday, age 83, of Scroggins, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. Bob was born in Scroggins on September 15, 1930 to the late John Wesley "J.W." Friday and Florence Victoria Brock Friday. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force as a Flight Instructor during the Korean War. He was a farmer, and member and deacon at Weaver Baptist Church. He was a Lone Star Farmer, and Pilgrim Prides Top Grower in 2000. He married Emma Jean Busby Friday on June12, 1954 in Wood County, she survives; also surviving are son, Tom Ray Friday and wife Julie of Scroggins; daughter, Vickie Jean Friday Martin and husband Troy of Scroggins; three grandchildren, John Harrell, Amber Friday-Brown, Nathanael Friday; two great-grandchildren, MaKayla Harrell, and Kade Friday.

Arrangements are being handled by BEATY FUNERAL HOME, INC., P O BOX 407 / 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, TX where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, April 5, 2014. Funeral service will be at Beaty Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 6, 2014, Bro. Tom Friday officiating. Interment will be at Smyrna Cemetery, Wood County, TX. Donations can be made to Weaver Baptist Church or Gilbreath Memorial Library.
