Bobbie Folmar

January 15, 1925 — December 22, 2025

It is with great joy and celebration of a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Bobbie Camille Folmar, who left this world on December 22, 2025, at the remarkable age of 100. Born on January 15, 1925, in De Kalb, Texas, Bobbie was the cherished daughter of Ella Mae and Ray Herbert Jones.

In 1940, her family moved to Winnsboro, Texas, where she blossomed, graduating from Winnsboro High School in 1943. Her dedication and spirit shone brightly as she received the Citizenship Award and played a proud role in the Red Raider Band. Bobbie continued her education at Tyler Commercial College, paving the way for a successful career as a secretary. Her professional journey began at the Soil Conservation Service Work Unit in Winnsboro and later transitioned to the district office in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

In 1956, she married Harry Garbett from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and they spent 35 wonderful years in Houston, Texas. In Houston, Bobbie became an active member of South Main Baptist Church, contributing her time to the Welcome and Usher Committees and participating in the Friends in Deeds Medical Program. As part of her professional endeavors, she worked for the American Automobile Association, skillfully managing domestic travel reservations.

In 1987, Bobbie and Harry returned to their roots in Winnsboro, where they joined the First Baptist Church. Here, she continued her legacy of service by being involved in the Welcome and Bereavement Committees and serving as the secretary for the Adult 1 Sunday School class. Bobbie also generously dedicated her time to deliver Meals on Wheels and was a former member of the local civic club.

She bravely faced the loss of her husband, Harry, in 1991. In 1996, she found love again with John Neal Folmar of Pickton, Texas, though he too passed away in 1997. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Si Jones, and both of her husbands.

Bobbie leaves behind a loving family, including her niece Nancy Jones and her nephew Larry Jones of Leesburg, Texas, as well as her great-nephew and great-niece, Chris and Randi Jones and family from Ponder, Texas, Chad and Falon Jones and family of Dallas, Texas, and Kyle Jones of The Woodlands, Texas.

Friends and family are invited to join us for a Funeral Service at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro at 2:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
