Bobby Glenn Ramey was born in Golden Texas on March 29, 1931 to Fred and Mable Carr Ramey. He grew up working the fields and attending Golden schools. Bob was especially proud of his 1956 Chevy that he drove around town. Bobby married the greatest woman and love of his life Louise Cameron on December 26, 1954. He honorably served in US Army and was based in Germany during his time in the service. After he was discharged from the Army, He and Louise moved to Tyler, Texas. This is where they raised their 3 children and he worked for GE/Trane. His company provided him the honor of meeting President Ronald Reagan one day at the plant. Bob served as a deacon of Fair Park Baptist Church. His hobbies included riding his family around on his motorcycle, camping, fishing, and talking. Everywhere he went he took his family with him.
After Bobbie retired, Louise and he moved to Quitman, Texas. This is where they built a home and enjoyed the last 30 years of his life. Louise and Bob would walk the country roads every day and drive to the Mineola DQ for dinner. They spent much of their retirement years chasing after grandkids and great grandkids. Bob and Louise attended every function that involved one of their grandkids. Bob was an inactive deacon of Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and tended to the landscape at Hubbard Chapel for many years. At the end of his life, Bobby expressed that he was most proud of his kids and their families. He was truly a family man in every way.
