Bobby Ray Snyder, age 76, was born in Mineola, Texas to Hubert and Fay Snyder. He married Emma Ruth Holland on April 10, 1957. He proudly served as Sergeant in the U.S. Army and later in the National Guard. Bobby retired as a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad.
Bobby loved the outdoors. He hunted deer, tormented squirrels and built masterful campfires. He considered himself a culinary artist of camp food. He enjoyed sharing various survival tips with his grandchildren and etching his initials on tools so that he could retrieve them when borrowed. He was a gardener, a bird watcher, a shade tree mechanic, a consummate storyteller an artist and lover of ice cream.
Bobby was a romantic, leaving love notes and sketches for Ruth all over the house. They were frequently seen dancing cheek to cheek, in their kitchen, to songs by Elvis or the Platters. His love extended beyond her to his children grandchildren and most recently his great-grandchildren.
Bobby described himself as a successful man. He loved God, his family, and is country. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Snyder; Children, Lori and David Blaylock, Bobby and Cassie Snyder, Dana and Lenis Pierce and Julie and Gregg Fisher; Grandchildren, David Jr. and Erin Blaylock, Nicholas and Emily Blaylock, Candice and Dylan Carney, Callyn Snyder, Austin Fisher and Chase Fisher Great-Grandchildren, Brynleigh Fisher and Eden Blaylock; Sister and Brother in Law, Barbara Jean and Jack Price, as well as numerous nieces and nephews
He is much loved and will be sorely missed.
