Bobby Joe Wallis

Bobby Joe Wallis, age 80, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away on May 11, 2025.
Born in Winnsboro on October 16, 1944, Bobby was a proud member of the Winnsboro High School Class of 1963. He retired from Jeld-Wen in 2009 after dedicating almost 20 years to the company. He was of the Christian faith and lived a life full of dedication to his family, friends, and community, with a special passion for youth sports that spanned decades.
Bobby was a well-known figure in the softball and baseball world across Northeast Texas. He was a member of numerous organizations, including the North Texas Softball Chapter—where he had recently been reelected as State Representative—NCS, USSSA, TASO, Lone Star Softball, Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball, and Diamond Youth leagues. His commitment extended to local leagues in Paris, Sulphur Springs, Mount Vernon, Mount Pleasant, and Winnsboro. He also looked forward to helping at the Sulphur Bluff Basketball Tournament every year, where he was a familiar and friendly face at the gate.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher Albert “Joe” Wallis and Alice Joyce Baker, and by his son, Stephen Wallis.
He is survived by his children, Michael Wallis and wife Amanda of Dike, Texas, Regina Giguere and husband Bryan of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Jennifer Adamek and husband Cory of Mount Pleasant, Texas; brothers, Grady Wallis and wife Roseline of Winnsboro, Texas and Reggie Wallis of Winnsboro, Texas.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Cody Wallis, Blake McClure, Hunter Wallis, and Taylor Wallis, as well as four beloved great-grandchildren.
Bobby was known for his steady presence and his unwavering support for the kids and communities he served. Whether behind home plate or cheering from the sidelines, he brought people together and made lasting memories. His legacy will continue through the countless lives he impacted over the years. He will be greatly missed.
