Bonnie Sue Comer

February 9, 1955 — January 27, 2025

Bonnie Sue Comer, lovingly known as Sue, was born on February 9, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to Emmitt and Sarah Frances Dodgen Honeycutt. She grew up in the close-knit community of Winnsboro, Texas, where she cultivated a strong foundation of faith, family, and compassion that would define her life.

Sue dedicated her career to caring for others as an LVN nurse for the Johnston Unit in Winnsboro. Her work reflected her nurturing spirit and deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of those she served. She was a proud Baptist whose faith guided her through life’s joys and challenges.

Sue found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, cooking, and shopping, often sharing these passions with those she loved. Her kindness, warmth, and sense of humor brought comfort and laughter to all who knew her.

Sue is survived by her husband of forty three years, James Comer; her son, Robert David Riza and wife Elizabeth of Kirbyville; daughters, Sheila Cash of Mineola and Alisha Adams and husband Bryan of Winnsboro; and her sister, Gayle Honeycutt of Quitman. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Tatum, Hope, Clayton, Austin, Caden, Randall, and Katelynn, and a loving great-grandmother to Huntleigh. She cherished her family above all else, finding immense joy in their presence and accomplishments.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Roy Honeycutt, grandson, Andrew and son-in-law Billy Cash, whose memory she carried in her heart.

Sue’s legacy of love and compassion will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Sue's life will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 2 to 4 at the home of Ryan and Sheena Minick in Winnsboro.
