Burdette Harry Nichols

Burdette Harry "Nick" Nichols, age 93, died Monday, April 11, 2011 in Tyler, Texas. He was born Thursday, December 13, 1917 in Cattaraugus, New York to the late Nelson and Mary Elizabeth Nichols. He attended Whispering Pines Church of the Nazarene and was a Mason. He was a member of the Hawkins Volunteer Fire Department and the American Legion. He was a charter member of the Society of Carbide Engineers, Chapter 15.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Hazel Waite Nichols.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Bedsole-Nichols of Hawkins, Texas; three sons, Burt Nichols of Hawkins, Texas, Bob Nichols of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Rick Bedsole of Marfa, Texas; two daughters Maryian Nichols-Halbert of Cleburne, Texas and Renee deSosa of Hawkins.

Visitation for Mr. Nichols will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Beaty Funeral Home in Hawkins from 6 - 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Beaty Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Hawkins on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jeff Karlson and Rev. Billy Buckingham officiating.
