Carlos Gene Miller, 82, died on October 15, 2019, in Conroe, Texas. Carlos was born on December 15, 1936 in Big Spring, Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston with a master's degree in Education. In 1960, he and his wife Sue, moved to Pasadena, Texas where he accepted a position as a public school teacher in the Pasadena Independent School District. He worked in that same school district for more than 35 years, spending most of those years teaching Biology and Chemistry before he finished his career as a High School Counselor. After retiring in 1994, Carlos and Sue returned to their hometown of Winnsboro and enjoyed watching many beautiful sunsets on the lake. Carlos was an active member of First Baptist Church Winnsboro. He enjoyed making people laugh, wearing funny hats and always strived in some unique way to steal the spotlight at any gathering. He is survived by his daughter Teresa Renee' Byrd and her husband Danny, of Conroe, Texas; his son Tony Ray Miller and wife Diane, of Cypress, Texas; his three grandchildren and their spouses: Sara Brooke Hendrix of Little Elm, Texas; Derek Andrew Miller of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Karlee Nicole Turcios of Bedford, Texas and one great-grandson, Micah Hoke Hendrix of Little Elm, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Martha Sue Miller of Winnsboro, Texas; his parents, Elmer and Hester Miller, of Winnsboro, Texas; and his sister Janie Humphrey of Deer Park, Texas. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2019 in the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel followed by the funeral beginning at 11:30 a.m. Dr. David Rose, Pastor of First Baptist Church Winnsboro officiating. All are welcomed to attend and celebrate Carlos' life. The family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors on Lake Winnsboro and at First Baptist Church for your prayers, visits and concern for our Dad.
