Carolyn Sue Betts

Carolyn Sue Betts, 76, of Mineola, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 24, 1947, in Lancaster, Texas. She was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Chester) Herman.

For the past 35 years, Carolyn Sue called Mineola home, where she was deeply involved in her community. She served as the stockroom manager at Aramark in Tyler until her retirement in 2016, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues as a beloved supervisor.

A woman of faith, Carolyn Sue held a deep love for the Lord and a boundless devotion to her family. She found joy in giving her grandbabies and great-grandbabies hugs and kisses, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. An enthusiastic participant in Bingo and a fan of scratch-off lottery tickets, she also delighted in watching game shows during her retirement.

Carolyn Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Williams Betts, in 2018, and her brothers, Sambo Herman and Bobby Clifton. She is survived by her sons, John Betts and wife Sherry, and Brian Betts; her daughter, Karen Betts; her brother, Robbie Clifton and wife Betty; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Betts, Jesse Betts and his wife Jess, Brittany Wilkins, Kimberly Betts, and Taylor Betts. She also leaves behind her treasured great-grandchildren, Kymber Echols, P.J. Respress, Jr., and others.

Carolyn Sue will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
