Carolyn Sue Moore

Carolyn Johnson Moore, age 79, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away on February 4, 2024. She was born on May 18, 1944, in Winnsboro, Texas, to the late Carney G. Johnson and Lois Duckworth Johnson.

Carolyn grew up in Winnsboro and attended Winnsboro High School before furthering her education at the University of Houston, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She pursued a career as an accountant, demonstrating dedication and skill in her profession.

Devoted to her faith, Carolyn was a dedicated member of Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, Texas for more than 35 years and an active member of Pine Street Baptist Church, where she participated in the Fidelis Sunday School Class and was involved with the Crafter and Prime Timers groups. She found joy in fellowship and was an integral part of the Stretchers Club.

On June 24,1966, Carolyn married the love of her life, Samuel Lee Moore, and together they shared many cherished years until his passing. Their union was blessed with three children, John Michael Moore, Samantha Lee Moore and Scott Edward Moore.

Carolyn was known for her warm heart and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Trudeaux, Jacqueline, Georgia, Sheridan, David, Mallory and Piper.

She is survived by her loving children, Scott Edward Moore and Samantha Lee Moore; her sister, Emily Claire Minter; and her grandchildren. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Carney and Lois Johnson; her husband, Samuel Lee Moore; her son, John Michael Moore; and her brother Ellis M Johnson.

Carolyn Sue Moore will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
