Carolyn Sue Wilson

Carolyn Sue Wilson a lifelong resident of the Winnsboro community passed away with her devoted family by her side on October 28, 2023. She was born on March 19, 1941, in Winnsboro to parents Derrell and Loviebell (Boles) Cox. Carolyn was a member of Walnut St. Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School Class many years ago. Mrs. Wilson loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Carolyn was a wonderful homemaker and helper to her husband Johnnie out in the pasture raking and bailing hay. She married her beloved husband Johnnie Wilson in 1970 and the two of them shared 53 years of blissful matrimony. Carolyn Sue was preceded in death by her parents Derrell and Loviebell Cox; son Joe Glenn Mills; daughter Marita Thomason; brother Leon Cox; and sister Derrelline Raulston. She is survived by her husband Johnnie Wilson; daughters Melinda Cobb (Jason), Jackie Marks, and Jo Anne Jackson (James); brother Robert Cox (Melinda); sister Rosemary Chitsey; grandchildren Billy Joe Smith, Kenneth Glenn Smith, Keith Joseph Thomason, James Matthew Thomason, and Christa Wood; great grandchildren Zachary Edwards and Rocklynn Edwards; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family. Graveside service will be held at Hopewell Cemetery on Wednesday, November 1st at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain John Brown officiating.
