Carroll Ernest Sherwin

Carroll Ernest Sherwin, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents Jackie and T.J. Sherwin, daughter Rhonda Sherwin, and sister Faith Sherwin.

Carroll is survived by his wife of 18 years Linda Sherwin of Holly Lake Ranch, TX. siblings Jan and Ray Morgan, Judy and Van Page, Ray and Kristy Miller, and Deborah Brasket, children Deborah Hunt, Patricia and Wade Lucas, Tina and Danny Imhoff, Christopher and Christina Sherwin, Truman John and Michelle Sherwin, Gary and Kimberly Schragin, and Terri Cassels. Carroll was "Grandpa" to many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild who loved him very much.

Carroll was born in Maud, Oklahoma, on July 23, 1939, and grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma. In the late 1960's, he worked for General Dynamics in Fort Worth. He shared his love for singing and Jesus by directing music in many churches across Oklahoma and Missouri. Carroll was a successful homebuilder in Ponca City, Yukon, and Piedmont, Oklahoma, also serving as President of The Home Builder's Association in Ponca City. He built homes for over 30 years and later built custom cabinets and various other projects.

He worked for the school district in Las Vegas, Nevada, teaching carpentry shop.

Some of Carroll's greatest loves were teaching his "Joy" Sunday school Class at Holly Brook Baptist Church, being part of the Singing Men of East Texas, and being a member of the Holly Brook Quartet.

Carroll loved making people laugh with his great sense of humor, and also enjoyed sharing his wisdom. He loved music and singing, but he will be most remembered for his deep love for the Lord.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pastor's Hope Network or Samaritan's purse.

The family will receive friends for a visitation starting at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 18th at Holly Brook Baptist Church in Holly Lake Ranch with the funeral to follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Holly Tree Cemetery.
