With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cary Lynn Spence, 64, who gained his wings on August 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty, laughter, and a life well-lived.
Cary was born on August 5, 1961, in Wills Point to Cary and Sue Spence. He was a graduate of Winnsboro High School class of 1980. In 1985, he married his high school sweetheart, Crystal. They were married for 40 years and blessed with 3 wonderful children and 7 grandchildren. Last fall, they fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Hawaii and South Dakota.
Cary was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. Whether it was deer hunting or working in the yard, he was always most at home outside.
Cary owned and operated Spence Lawn Care for 20+ years. He was a faithful member of Pineview Baptist church and was the President of the cemetery board. He supported Wreaths Across America. His hobbies included dirt track racing, riding ATVs, coaching sports, and anything NASCAR.
But what truly defined Cary Lynn was his love for family. Every morning, without fail, he had coffee with his parents - sitting at the "round table", taking turns with the blood pressure cuff.
His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Whether he was playing catch, riding go carts, telling stories, or slipping them candy when no one was looking, he was a constant, loving presence in their lives.
He leaves behind well-worn loafers, a garage full of tools, a yard full of trucks, freezer full of wild game, and memories that will echo at every family event and hunting trip for years to come.
Cary Lynn's greatest accomplishment was the day he accepted his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He loves to share his testimony and God's love with all.
Cary Lynn is survived by his beloved wife Crystal Taylor; children Taylor Spence and girlfriend Stephanie, Maghan Spence, and Logan Spence and wife Karlee; parents Cary and Sue Spence; siblings Tammy Swann and husband Scott, Toni Smith and husband Don, Kevin (George) Spence and wife Anne, Lynda Spence; grandchildren Brody, Anni, Bellamy, Dallas, Moonie, Luka, Ledger; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family.
Your love and support mean so much to the Spence family during this difficult time. Posted with their permission. Please share.
