Cecil Charles Sims

Cecil Charles Sims, age 83 formerly of Mineola, Texas, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 in Tigard, Oregon. He was born on Wednesday, February 8, 1928 in Mineola, Texas to the late Cecil and Mamie Sims. He graduated from Baylor University and also from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a son, David Alan Sims.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeannine Sims; a daughter, Juli Stephens; two sons, Jamie Sims and Jerry Sims; a brother Legrand Sims; four grandchildren, Cooper Stephens, Kirby Stephens, Krystal DeMartino and Zachery Sims; one great-grandchild, Taelyn DeMartino; and several beloved nephews and nieces.

A graveside service for Mr. Sims will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Hawkins Cemetery in Hawkins, Texas with visitation an hour before.
