Charlene Waller Wilma Bice

Charlene Waller Bice, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in Winnsboro. Charlene was born May 27th, 1926 to Charles and Irene Waller in Tyler, Texas. She was a 1942 graduate of Tyler High School and a 1944 graduate of Tyler Junior College. Charlene received her BS degree from Texas Wesleyan University of Fort Worth and her Master of Education from Texas Christian University in 1979. She was a teacher in the Fort Worth ISD for over 30 years before retiring to Holly Lake Ranch. She was a member of the Genesis United Methodist Church of Fort Worth and also of the Holly Tree Chapel in Holly Lake. Charlene was a life time member of the National Education Agency where she served as NEA Director for 8 years. She was also a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, AAUS and Delta Kappa Gamma, Texas State Teachers Association and the Fort Worth Classroom Teachers Association where she served two terms as President. Charlene is survived by her husband of 69 years, Richard, son Chuck, son Craig and his wife Sherry. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tuesdee Stewart, Tiffany Wiggington (Chris), Clark Bice (Julie), and Tyler Bice as well as six great grandchildren, Riley and Cole Stewart, Cela and Tanner Wiggington and Claire and Lillie Bice. Other survivors include her sister, Helen Waller Appelberg and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the Holly Tree Chapel, 1620 South FM 2869, Holly Lake Ranch, TX 75765-6386 (Ph: 903-769-3501). Pastor Tim Mink.
