Charles Edward Hunt

Judge Ed Hunt, age 78, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in Quitman, Texas. He was born on Saturday, September 24, 1932 in Forney, Texas to the late Oscar Lee and Mabel Elizabeth Hunt. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Mineola, Texas. He was a member of the Mineola Masonic Lodge # 502 and the American Legion. He was a Sgt. in the United States Marine Corp. and was active in the Toys for Tots program. He worked for the Wood County Sheriff's Office for 27 years. He was a former Wood County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 and a former City Judge for the City of Mineola. He worked for the U.S. Marshall's office for 2 years and was retired fro the Dallas Fire Department.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Madeline Reed.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Bobbie Cotten Hunt of Mineola; a son, Clinton Edward Hunt of Mineola; a daughter, Leigh Ann Hunt of Tyler, Texas; three sisters, Peggy Heidt of New Hampshire, Arlene Siler of Ft. Worth, Texas, Darlene Basden of Dallas, Texas; and six grandchildren, Dillon, Clint, Taylor, Tamara, Tori and Whitney.

Visitation for Judge Hunt will be at the Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6 - 8 PM.

Funeral Services will be held at the Methodist Ministry Center in Mineola on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 1:00 PM.with Rev. Dan Danheim and Hon. Alice Tomerlin officiating.
