Charles Weldon Richey

Charles Weldon Richey, age 92 of Scroggins, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Richey was born on Thursday, August 12, 1920 in Hopkins County, Texas to the late Andrew F. and Lora Howard Richey. He was a veteran of World War II, a farmer, carpenter and a musician. His loving wife of 70 years, Winnie Mae Evers Richey, preceded him in death on January 12, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gordon, William, and Troy Richey; sister, Juanita Richey Miller; and two grandsons, Rocky Shelton, and Jacob Richey. He is survived by a son, Stuart Richey and wife Charlotte of Mt. Vernon; daughters, Kay Shelton and husband Sonny of Scroggins, Paula Gullo and husband John of Crockett, Beverly Gibson and husband Don of Garland, Rose Mary Gunn and husband Mike of Scroggins, Janis Crosby and husband Bill of Hide-a-Way Lake, Katherine Lacy and husband Craig of Mineola; nine grandchildren, Alysia Autry, Angela Reed, Rae Dawn Gibson, Tonya Gillian, Chea Koustoubordis, Chad Capehart, Chris Capehart, Josh Richey, J.J. Richey; fourteen great-grandchildren, Gage and Doran Gibson, Ben, Ethan, and Leah Autry, Rhett and Ryleigh Reid, Camden and Makeltie Capehart, Grace and Gavin Koustoubordis, Nicole and Alyssa Richey, and Isabella Richey; and a sister-in-law, Della Richey of Mineola. Arrangements are being handled by Beaty Funeral Home, 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, TX where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2013. Funeral service will be at Beaty Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 27, 2013, Bro. Ronny Spence officiating. Interment will be at Pine Forest Cemetery, Hopkins County, TX.
