Cheryl Diann Gillis

Cheryl Diann Gillis went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2024, surrounded by loved ones and family. Born on January 22, 1963, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Roddy Paul and Kay Francis Spivey Gillis, Cheryl grew up in Garland, Texas, where she attended high school.

Cheryl was a bright personality with a big smile who adored people and was always ready to give a hug. She enjoyed activities such as coloring, puzzles, and bowling, bringing joy and warmth to all who knew her.

Cheryl is survived by her sister, Paula Lawrence; aunts, Sue Spence, Sherry Ruff, and Lila Fay Sparkman; nieces, Kay Geffers and Morgan LeClaire; nephews, Justin Gillis and Barry Lawrence; and cousins, Ann Fitzgerald, Cary Lynn Spence, Tammy Swann, George Spence, Toni Smith, Lynda Spence, Vivian Toland, Alan Sparkman, and Stacie Victory; sister-in-law, Cindy Essl.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roddy and Kay Gillis, and her brother, Mark Gillis.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pineview Baptist Church in Cheryl's memory.
