Christine Marie Corbitt

Mrs. Christine Marie Corbitt, age 90 of Winnsboro, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009. She was born in Franklin, Illinois on February 22, 1919 to the late Leslie Z. and Bessie Johnson Waters. She operated a punch press, building parts for the B-52 bombers at North American Aviation in Kansas City during World War II, she was awarded a Army Navy E Award for excellence in war equipment Production, and later married J.D. Corbitt on April 21, 1950 in Texarkana, Ark. She was a retired seamstress, and was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, J.D. Corbitt; sons, Timothy and Eddie Corbitt; four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by daughter, Cindy Vest and husband Joe of Scroggins; son, Danny Corbitt and wife Peggy of Grand Prairie; sister, Rosemary Payne of Panama City. Florida; grandchildren, Leslie McKee and husband Barry of Scroggins, Gary Corbitt and wife Becky of San Antonio, Christopher Corbitt and wife Christine of Ft. Worth; great grandchildren, Tanner, Joseph and Daryn McKee of Scroggins. Pallbearers will be, Phil Hallman, Ronnie Sansom, Bobby Sansom, Donnie Alexander, Arville Cook, and Kenny Alexander. Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday December 13, 2009 at Beaty Funeral Home Winnsboro, Texas. Interment will be at Lee Cemetery, Winnsboro, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Beaty Funeral Home.
