Dā Arthur Radford was born to Foster and Rosie Strong Radford on July 4, 1926, in Kilgore, Texas. He attended school in Fouke, Texas. At age 11 he joined New Zion Baptist Church. During his journey he was a faithful member, deacon and choir member. He also helped to create the Community Male Chorus.
During his life he was known as a hay and wood man, baling hay for the public and cutting numerous cords of wood during the winter months.
In May of 1945, he married Mildred Hall Radford who preceded him in death, to this union 6 children were born. Two of his children Melvin Radford and Mary Radford also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his special friend, Helen Murrell, four children, Arthur Radford and his wife Letha Radford of Houston, Guilda Wilburn Chase and her husband Ronald Chase of Hawkins, Joyce Taylor and her husband Tommy Taylor of Hawkins, and Karon Radford of Jasper. Two brothers Carl Radford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Lonzell Radford of Hawkins, and an uncle and an aunt, a host of brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
