D. O. Stevens

D. O. "Doyne" Stevens, age 86, died Friday, June 7, 2013 in Mineola, Texas. He was born on Tuesday, January 18, 1927 in Calion, Arkansas to the late Harvey and Omie Stevens. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, was a Mason and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. D. O. was a professional Electronic Technician and co-owner of Dudes and Dolls Salon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Willie Stevens; other family members, Harvey Stevens, Benoit “Bunny” Stevens, John & John Jr. Stevens.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Stevens of Mineola; three sons, Larry Stevens, Robbie Chaffin and Russell Chaffin all of Mineola; a daughter, Linda McNeal of Sabine, Texas; step-children, Ronnie Cooksey and Charlie Star of Mineola; two sisters, Sharon Sullins and husband Gary of Kilgore, Texas and Louise Stegall and husband Larry of Price, Texas; mother in law, Charlene Ritchie of Mineola; sister in law, Kathy Driver and husband Bobby; brothers in law, Dale, Steve and Gary Ison of Mineola; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation for Mr. Stevens will be held from 12 – 1 PM at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church on Monday, June 10, 2013.

Funeral services follow at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist with Bro. Bobby Driver officiating.

Interment will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
