Daniel R. Fletcher, 71, passed away at home February 9, 2021. Dan was born and spent most of his life in Amarillo, Texas graduating from Caprock High School in 1967 and, after serving his country in the Army, worked in construction as a cement finisher and supervisor. Besides his family, Dan’s other love was motorcycles. A founding member of the Jokers of Amarillo Motorcycle Club, he spent most of his youth riding Harleys and going to Palo Duro Canyon with friends. To friends he was affectionately known as Fletcher or Fletch. He is preceded in death by his parents; James “Big Jim” Fletcher and Catherine (O’Dell) Fletcher and stepdaughter Brandy Abbott. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Denise A. Fletcher of Hawkins, Texas, his two daughters Christine Baucom, and Shannon Moseley both of Lindale, Texas, and his brother James “Jimmy” Fletcher of Amarillo. Dan will always be known as “Papa” to his grandchildren; Bekah, Jorden, Hunter, Alexis, and Brendan as well as his six great-grandchildren. His family and friends will forever remember his sense of humor and his devotion to them all. Memorial services will be held privately with the family February 27, 2021.
