David Eugene Hayes

David Eugene Hayes, 92, of Winnsboro, passed away on April 24, 2020. Mr. Hayes was born on April 29, 1927 in Tekamah, Nebraska and had been a resident here for the past 15 years coming from California. He was a locksmith by trade, a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church and a Sunday school teacher. Mr. Hayes served with honor in the Merchant Marines from 1944 to 1946. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty (Englehart) Hayes in 2017. Mr. Hayes is survived by his daughter Mary K. Zimmerman of Winnsboro; 7 grandchildren David, Aaron, Sarah, Ruth, Ben, Rebekah and Joshua; 18 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren. A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
