David Lee Morgan

David Lee Morgan peacefully left this earth on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in Winnsboro, TX. David was born December 25, 1926 to Dee Preston Morgan and Ether Gray Morgan in Dickens, TX. David grew up in Munday, TX and Seymour, TX where his love for hunting and fishing began. After graduating high school, David served as a Merchant Marine.


David was a hard worker and served many in the Winnsboro area as a handy man, working on and fixing everything from A/C units to household appliances. Some of David’s favorite things were quail hunting, traveling across the country (especially to Alaska), visiting Caddo Lake, and working on projects to pass the time in his shop.


David was preceded in death by his parents, Dee Preston and Ether Gray Morgan. His siblings Estella Habson, Melvin Morgan, Mary Ruth Baldwin, and D.P. Morgan, Jr.


David is survived by his loving wife of almost 20 years, Margaret Ann Morgan of Winnsboro, daughter Lee Anne Dudley of Irving, TX, stepson Chris and Annette McElyea of Winnsboro, TX, stepdaughter Sherri McElyea of Tyler, TX, and grandchildren Josh and Shelby Costner of Chandler, TX, Lucas McElyea of Winnsboro, and Preston and Autumn McElyea of Winnsboro. David also had several nieces and nephews spread throughout the country who loved to come and visit with their Uncle David in Winnsboro.


In lieu of a funeral service, the family will receive visitors and friends at the Morgan’s home on Sunday, August 21, from 2:00PM – 4:00PM. The Morgan’s home is located at 210 CR 4218 Winnsboro, TX 75494.
