David Carroll Shirley

Mr. David Carroll Shirley, age 69 of Quitman, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at his home. He was born on December 1, 1952 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to the late H.B. Shirley and Emmalea McKinney Shirley.

David was a lifelong barber and owner of Best Barber Shop in Winnsboro. He was an active and longtime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Janie Lee Brooks and brothers, Jimmy, Mac and Joe Shilrey.

Survivors include his daughter, Katie Ward of Red Oak; sons, Patton Shirley of Arlington and Garon Shirley of Paris, Texas, and Kenneth Shirley; brothers, Perry Shirley of Winnsboro, Garon Shirley of Cartwright, Lewis Shirley of Garland, H.B. Shirley Jr. of Conway, Arkansas, Jon Shirley of Winnsboro, and Tim Shirley of Oklahoma; sister, Elizibeth Shirley of Waynesboro, Mississippi; grandchildren, Michael, Dakota, Payton.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Beaty Funeral Home, 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX at 2:00 pm with Rev. Perry Shirley conducting.
