Hard working hands came to rest on Thursday night August 31, 2023. David Earl Weems was born on October 29, 1947, in Winnsboro, Texas, to Bernice Franklin Weems and Ruth Wanda (Rouse) Weems. He was a lifetime resident of Winnsboro and a 1965 graduate of Winnsboro High School. David was a member of Coldwater Baptist Church. He worked many years in the oilfields for local oilfield companies before retiring. Mr. Weems loved to head out for a successful hunting trip. He also enjoyed fishing many times with his beloved wife Jolene. David was preceded in death by his wife Jolene (Powell) Weems; parents Bernice and Ruth Weems; grandson Adam Watson; son-in-law Tony Watson; brothers Blondie Weems and B.R.Weems. He is survived by his daughter Sandy Kay Kile and husband David, Angie Thompson and husband Kevin; grandchildren Spencer Talbert, Caden Moore, Reid Kile, Emily Kile, Shelby Watts, Carson Watson, Caitlin Sutton, Jacob Thompson, and Kade Thompson; great-grandchildren Jude Talbert, Jonah Watts, Zeke Watts, Eden Watts, Avery Watts, and Jesse Sutton; sister Wanda Patterson and husband Bick, sister Deb Crone and husband Ricky; and his little four legged Buddy (Jack). The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m., at Willard Cemetery in Winnsboro with Bro. David Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Weems, Jason Weems, Hunter Powell, Mike Powell, Marcus Weems, and Kerry Powell.
